Dear parents, friends, and families,

Thank you for sharing your wonderful children with me this year.  We have learned so much, grown so tall, and prepared ourselves for fantastic educational careers!  Have a safe and exciting summer!

Spring has Sprung at PreK

We have enjoyed learning all about Spring this week, and we have really enjoyed the Spring weather while on the playground! We have talked about different types of flowers that are blooming, the leaves turning green on the trees, and the warmer weather. Our class enjoyed making several "spring time" art projects.

Our school Easter egg hunt is next Thursday, March 29th at 9:30. We hope to see you there!

Hi all! Your children have enjoyed reading the silly rhymes of Dr. Seuss and have even made their very own "Cat in the Hat" hats. They have also had fun participating in interactive white board games addressing colors and one to one correspondence. Next week we will celebrate St. Patrick's Day and the color green. We will make shamrock treats and have a parade on Wednesday, March 14. Don't forget March 15th and 16th are student holidays. Have a great weekend!

We have had a great week of learning and fun. The students enjoyed working together to make our "One Love" heart in honor of Black History Month and Dr. Martin Luther King. Next week we will continue to celebrate Dr. Seuss.

This week we wrapped up our theme about emotions/love/hearts. We had fun playing a game about emotions. Each student had to pick a face puppet and act out the emotion. We also had fun with playdoh as we created different emotions/faces. Next week it is all about Dr. Seuss! We will make lots of fun creations as we enjoy the rhymes and stories of this great author!

Picture day is on Tuesday! Don't forget to check the newsletter/calendar for upcoming events!

Love Is In the Air!

This week we have learned about hearts. We have learned that exercising our hearts keeps us healthy. We performed Head, Shoulders, Knees and Toes and other gross motor songs for exercise. To reinforce what we have learned, perform an exercise with your child. Have him/her feel his/her heartbeat before and after exercising. Discuss the difference in the heartbeat rate.

We also made puffy hearts with shaving cream and glue, and played counting and matching games with paper hearts. Next week we will use heart shapes to spell our names. "Our Emotions " is our theme for next week. Also, don't forget about our Valentine's Day party next Tuesday! Please send in Valentines for your child's classmates for our Post Office lesson. Thanks! Have a great weekend!

It's Great To Be Back!

Hello all! It is so nice to be back! I truly missed everyone. This month we will be learning about Valentine's Day. We will review the colors red and pink. We will participate in lots of fun activities relating to hearts and love. We will address emotions such as happy/sad/mad. We will also have a Valentine's Day party this month so look for more information in the February newsletter. Again, it's great to be back and I look forward to the remainder of our school year!
